I’ve received a few questions so would like to ensure everyone is aware of the following:
Whilst our more experienced sailors can receive coaching between races they can not once we enter into our starting sequence. All other sailors will have coaching and support DURING races. Both of our SQSA boats will be there to support, encourage and coach. This Regatta is an excellent opportunity for sailors to enhance and develop their skills on the water with 3 days of sailing.
Yes your child is good / competent enough to attend. SQSA is all about skill development, we are here to encourage and support your sailors growth.
While we can’t control the weather this is traditionally an event that is enjoyable to all skill levels.
If anyone would like some assistance with boat set up, ask some of our knowledgeable parents or Michael Eaton.
Please print and review the safety checklist (CLICK HERE) which will need to be checked off before the first race.
Please indicate if you would like to be on a support boat and preferred day / days. We will endeavour to get parents onto boats who would like to do so throughout the Regatta.
We are seeking a volunteer to be on the start / finish boat to record finish times, this involves writing a sail number and finish time. There is nothing too difficult and the race officer will be on board to assist and it’s also a great way to be close to the action.
