Wild Weather For Training Weekend.

Wild weather for training weekend.

Due to strong westerly winds, the training session planned for August 23 &24 was cancelled.

With 20knot plus winds, we felt it was in our sailors best interests to postpone.  The goal of the training sessions was for our sailors to have a fun time sailing with the benefit of some advice and training from talented coach Danny Fuller.  With the wind predicted we feel as though it would have been a challenging day on the water for most sailors and less then enjoyable for most.

However the great news is we do have our Bay Titles August 29 & 30th at Darling Point Sailing Squadron.  Sailors will receive on-water coaching and racing is a great way to improve their skills.  All sailors receive a medal for their placing at Sundays presentation and we have introduced a new one day entry for sailors who may not be able to compete both days.

Please know your sailors will be supported and encouraged on the water from our experienced support boat crews.

We will be providing a Sausage Sizzle for sailors on Saturday afternoon after racing.

You do need to be a member to compete in a SQSA event, family membership is $80 for the year which covers all children.

We sincerely hope to see you next weekend and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.

South Qld Sabot Association are hosting a FREE Sabot training weekend on the 22nd and 23rdof August at Darling Point Sailing Squadron with well respected coach Danny Fuller.  Sailors can nominate for either day or choose both days, more information can be found on either attachment or the trybooking link.

Pre-requisites – Sailors need to have completed tackers, dolphins, squids or it’s equivalent to be eligible to participate.  This is certainly open to all skill levels but is not a “discover sailing weekend”.

We are offering a relaxed, educational and fun couple of days on the water.  It’s also a great opportunity to meet fellow sailors and for parents to get a few hints from our more seasoned parents too.

We will be providing a sausage sizzle lunch each day and registration is mandatory to assist with catering, coach numbers and of course COVID requirements.
